The second annual Portland Bungalow Show will be held Saturday, May 17, and Sunday, May 18 at the Ambridge Center, 300 NE Multnomah St. The Show hours are Saturday 10-6, and Sunday 10-4. Additionally there will be a separately ticketed wine tasting and lecture at the Ambridge Center from 7-10pm.

We are pleased to have nationally renowned  architectural photographer Alexander Vertikoff as our main speaker on Saturday night!

We will for the first time be offering hands on workshops. This year we will focus on windows, both interior and exterior. More info is available on the workshops page. We also have an expanded lecture schedule, which is available on the lectures page.

The Portland Bungalow Show is proud to be partnered with the Architectural Heritage Center, and the Historic Irvington Home Tour, scheduled for May 18, 2008.  This year the Tour features 8 homes of which 3 are by the prolific developers Robert and Archie Rice who pioneered the Craftsman 4-Square and Bungalow styles in Irvington.  In conjunction with the Tour, that same weekend the Architectural Heritage Center will present lectures by Kim Fitzgerald and Amy McFeeters Krone on the Rice company and how they brought "modern" Craftsman Style architecture to the middle classes on Portland's east side.

See www.irvingtonhometour.com and www.visitahc.org for more details.  Package tickets are available for the Tour, a lecture, and admission to the Portland Bungalow Show. The Ambridge Center is five minutes by car from both the Historic Irvington Home Tour and the Architectural Heritage Center.

We look forward to seeing you there!

fredFollowing the modest success of the First Annual Portland Bungalow Show, we are primed for a larger and more extensive Second Annual Portland Bungalow Show. The venue has been changed to the Ambridge Center, just across the street from the Portland Convention Center. The Max stop is at the Convention Center. Additionally the venue is much more intimate than last year, with two exhibition rooms, and two lecture rooms. We are planning for more exhibitors, larger attendance, and an expanded offering of related topics. Besides philosophy, and furnishings, we will be discussing energy efficiency, what "green" really means to a bungalow owner, as well as demonstrations on window repair, making storm windows, and cleaning up interior woodwork. The show will be educational, enlightening, and entertaining! We look forward to seeing you there!
